Lavandula Pedunculata.

Shizuru Oneesama had always adored this type of flower; it was a type of plant which was a familiar sight in Garderobe Academy. Or at least it was when Tomoe was there, considering now she was in jail. Kept in away from the prying eyes of the people who despised her.

But did she regret anything? Not really.

Sure, it agonized her every night, the passing second becoming duller as she gazed up to the small barred window of the cell beside her-a never ending loop of day and night without any mercy upon her.

Tomoe knew full well she was to die here, alone, without any comfort.

But this flower, it continued to remind her of that woman she truly loved. Tomoe didn't care if people were to say it was a failed attempt which went utterly out of control, but they would never understand this.

Under the borders of true guilt, sacrifice and displeasure, there was still something left within Tomoe. She still had the ability to think, her mind wasn't entirely obsessed with Shizuru Oneesama. Of course she thought about the Archmeister almost all day, but that was relatively natural when suffering from the curse of love. Especially under her conditions and mental instability.

And yet people still doubted her, still believed she was the scum of the world only because she had done a few wrong things.

They didn't know anything of her past, nor did they have any idea what coursed through her mind, and yet they still dared to mock her.

It was unfair.

Why had it been her to have the consequences thrown upon her when in reality the Academy could have just worked to heal her, instead of abandoning her to this fragile state of mind?

That blasted Gakuenchou had known about her past, considering it was all down on her background history when she had been enrolled to the Academy. Surely that pathetic woman shouldn't have allowed her to join in the first place?

Originally, she had been from Zipang.

But nobody except the Otome leader knew of that, did they? Tomoe scoffed, shifting, seeking more comfort as the strong binds of the room kept her firmly attached to the wall. Just what was all of this? This form of containment was absolutely ridiculous, hilarious in a sense.

This was to keep her from getting out? Or perhaps it was to keep others away?

Honestly, all of this work to keep her inside of here, and yet right at the beginning, she could have been supported before she had ended up getting into this particularly sticky situation.

Accused rape, attempted murder and terrorism?

Tomoe barked a laugh, the tone sharp as she shuffled under the binding again. These chains… she growled.

Just why, why wasn't she allowed treatment? Was it perhaps because the Otome had come up with a judgmental plot that she was a cursed woman?

And yet they never realized…

…the true reason why she was like this.

"Schizophrenia, bipolar," she hissed. How was it her fault that she had watched her parents die? She had been forced to hide away as Schwartz spies killed the whole of her family. Fortunately, she had survived. But how ironic it had become, that she would later in life join the madness of the Schwartz? Unforgivable.

Her mother, Hanako Hinagiku had always wanted her to become an Otome, for not only so Tomoe could become stronger and more ladylike, but to help support the family's hot spring back in Zipang.

But oh, how things had changed, it was utterly amusing!

This treatment angered her!

Breathing an unleveled sigh, Tomoe sank into the wall of the brittle, freezing bricks behind her.

But then of course, it had begun spiraling out of control as soon as she met Shizuru, it was ironic, wasn't it?

She had met the Archmeister by luck when she was strolling about the edge of Garderobe, her replacement parents, having somehow allowed her to search the place. Maybe they had sensed the deprival of freedom within her at the time? That she was seeking the warmth and wonderment of becoming an Otome, something they knew, Hanako Hinagiku wanted Tomoe to find during her stay of Garderobe?

But that hadn't gone well, had it?

Shizuru Oneesama had even commented that they were similar. Having gone through familiar situations during the past.

The russet-chestnut haired Otome had supposedly gone from student to student, when she was a Pearl. Trias, to be exact. But that wasn't all that surprising was it? Since Shizuru Oneesama had been the room attendant to Princess Anh Lu, the Otome of An Nam.

It made Tomoe wonder, what would have Shizuru Oneesama been like without the guidance Anh Lu had given her all those years ago?

Perhaps she would have been submissive, or maybe even cowardly in a sense? But Tomoe was sure that wouldn't have been the case either way. The Archmeister was merely too powerful, graceful, and determined to have such downfalls as those.

"But we all have our negative responses to situations, don't we?"

Although it was difficult, Tomoe hesitantly brought a hand down to her side, the bindings staining slightly as she reached for the flaking violet flower beside her; the light lavender having seen a large amount of sunlight during its time in the gardens of Garderobe.

A lavandula pedunculata, it was a strong flower, and would grow quickly. It was peculiar in a sense because it described Shizuru Oneesama so well, horribly well in fact.

The sworn heart of an individual would be overflowed by the chestnut Meister hastily, even through the eyes of a mere citizen of an unknown country it was difficult to avoid. There was just something about the woman that made her mysterious, unbelievingly interesting to the fan of Otome and beautiful women alike.

But Shizuru wasn't entirely what people believed, Tomoe knew this, at least she did when she was betrayed.

Shizuru Viola is a sly devil, elegant and powerful, but she is an evil wolf in sheep clothing.

She'll trick you, and then she'll muddle up your delicate mind until it is utterly fractured in the centre, there was no escaping this woman if anyone liked it or not.

"Shizuru Oneesama hides her pain through that 'wall bond' smile of hers, doesn't she?" It was entirely true.

But…

…The blasted Gakuenchou was as bad as Shizuru Oneesama, because after all-hadn't she cheated on the Archmeister also? With… Juliet Nao Zhang, wasn't it?

And yet nothing ever came across for that incident. It was disgusting.

"Mother, why couldn't you have wanted me to become something else instead?" She whispered, glancing up to the barred window once more, the rays of the moon seeping through with ease, highlighting her features softly. "You wanted me to possibly become a President of some sort as well… but…"

That had failed also.

Like the whole of her future.

There was nothing left for her, was there?

She had attempted to stay banished from the Kingdom of Windbloom, Tomoe had tried so desperately to start a new life, but without the guidance of not one single person, what was she to do?

She had been casted in amazement when Miya had come up to her a few months back and declared she never wanted to see her again. She had visited once, and ever since then, Tomoe hadn't seen her.

It honestly didn't surprise Tomoe, she hadn't exactly treated the girl kindly even though Miya had…

Loved her?

"I've…" Just how much damage has she really caused? She had never meant to do so and yet…

"You… you love this, don't you…?" She whimpered, looking at nothing in particular as she struggled lightly against her restraints. She had only ever felt misery in her department!

Couldn't there at least be one understanding person around here?

Who did they think she was? She wasn't entirely evil! She had feelings, a heart even!

Tomoe choked back a cry, slumping back into the awkwardly uncomfortable wall. Tomoe wasn't…

"Shi-Shizuru… Oneesama…"

She had only ever asked for acknowledgement, and yet she always ended up going well over the top!

If…

…if no one could have Shizuru Oneesama then…

Then what?

It was utterly ludicrous.

Gagging back another fleeting laugh, Tomoe scowled. She wasn't up to this anymore, surely the guards knew this…? Yes, they knew. And they were silently mocking her at every moment of their existence. Like everyone else did. Probably even Shizuru Oneesama!

"Tomoe…? You are alright aren't you? Why are you chained to the wall?"

Shizuru Oneesama should know…

"… Oneesama should know," Tomoe's brows knitted together, giving the cell a look of worry. "The guards did it so I couldn't chip drawings into the walls again." Or for that matter, escape.

But where would she escape to?

"Oh? But surely that forbids the law that prisoners are allowed minor freedom in their cells?"

Freedom, Tomoe huffed, what freedom?

She hadn't felt such a thing ever since her parents had died so long ago.

Ah… 'course.

"It's my parents twelfth anniversary for their death tomorrow, Oneesama…"

"…"

"…Oneesama?"

Shivering, the viridian haired ex-Valkyrie looked about the cooling cell, eyes wide with a fear. Shizuru was gone again? Why did she continue to haunt her so?

"I am here, Tomoe," the alluring accent cooed into her ear, catching Tomoe off guard as she jumped, tearing her head to the side to look over her shoulder. Nothing was even there!

"Ara… don't be like that little Tomoe," the voice sounded once more, heightening her nerves. "I'll never leave you, only until you leave this world."

"O-Onee…"

"It's alright to cry, to be Human."

Of course they were Human, but…

Shizuru wasn't even here! How was she meant to believe that her Oneesama wouldn't abandon her like so many had done so before-

The slender woman appeared before her, frowning down on her disapprovingly.

"Onee…sama…?" Tomoe gazed up to her, puzzled, shocked.

What was…

Shizuru knelt down before her, winding her arms around Tomoe and allowing her to rest against her.

…this?

Further confused, Tomoe shook, her eyes blankly staring over the woman's shoulder as Shizuru delicately petted her hair.

"I'm not about to leave you when you need company during your most needing hour," Shizuru spoke quietly into her ear, her full, luxurious lips just barely brushing up to Tomoe's ghastly pale skin. "Look at you," Shizuru pulled away gently, looking her over, "You look ill and you are far too thin."

What did…Shizuru Oneesama expect? Tomoe wasn't being fed properly.

"I…"

The beautiful woman shook her head, silencing Tomoe with a lone finger, "No, Tomoe, no excuses, you know how to look after yourself."

Tomoe opened her mouth, brow quivering, "W-what…?"

Scowling in response, Shizuru tore away from her completely, standing and looking down on her levelly. "You are too alike to me than I ever believed," Shizuru scowled, "I brushed it off as a mere hopeful glint you were giving me that you thought something would occur between us, but it never did."

"Shiz-uru…"

"No," the woman fumed, "Not again," Shizuru narrowed her eyes dangerously, backing away. "Nothing ever happened between us, not even when Garderobe was taken over; never."

How… how can Shizuru say this to her?

"Sh-Shizuru!" Desperately, the girl lent onto her bindings, stormy, powdery orbs widening frightfully as she stared up to the slowly retreating woman, disappearing in her very eyes. "Shizu!-"

The Archmeister materialized her double naginata blankly.

"N-no… Oneesama… no!"

"Why… yes," Shizuru sneered.

Suddenly, having been about to rise her element in a twisting motion, Shizuru shot her gaze over into the direction of the corridor behind the barred wall. Giving the quivering inmate one last frosty stare she disappeared once more, the clanging of metal soon taking place shortly after as heavy wooden barriers were lifted, a guard and scientist entering the girl's section of the jail.

"She's at it again," the guard spoke out to the silver-haired scientist disapprovingly, sending over a leveled glare over to the viridian haired woman who was slumped against the wall, staring over to where Shizuru had been. "I bet she is hallucinating again."

"Hm," the shorter man grunted, entering the cell with a syringe brimmed to the top with a disturbing substance, the liquid giving off the colour of crimson.

'So alike to… Oneesama's eyes…'

Everything reminded her of Shizuru.

"Now, hold still, you're going under experimentation later, and then…" Pressing down onto the syringe so the needle released a little of the… whatever it was, the scientist growled, kneeling before her harshly as his knees made a sickly crack. "Your sentence."

It was already coming up? Tomoe tensely bit into her lip, clenching her fists so her nails, which had grown considerably due to not being able to file them properly tearing into her skin, making her cringe.

"Yes… death," the scientist leered, plunging the needle into the prisoner's arm without warning, watching in a pleasurable motion as Tomoe let out a howl of pained disdain, shivering as the thin metal tore through the skin violently.

"But death is too good for her," the guard mocked, smirking as he smoothed down his spiked hair of fiery crimson. "It isn't like the Archmeister of Garderobe is going to miss her though!" He threw his head back, laughing.

"Of course, indeed!" The scientist grinned, roughly pushing the inmate into the wall once he pulled the syringe from the softly bleeding arm, turning on his heel to follow the fellow man out of the cell.

This was…

…really hell…

Limply, the ex-Valkyrie lowered her head in defeat, idly taking note that the lavender flower beside her had been crushed during the struggle.

Oneesama didn't love her.

Shizuru Viola would never do so, would she?

"We… we'll never be together?" Definitely not now that she was… going to be sentenced to death…

But perhaps death would suit her better under these circumstances? Tomoe would be left alone entirely for once, without the fleeting dismay of ever having feelings because she would never exist. Besides… maybe in her next life she would get to be with someone properly for once. But even so, she could be cursed for eternity to never get the one thing she desperately craved for.

Love.

"I…"

"I love you… Oneesama… Shizuru."

And whether the russet-chestnut liked it or not, she would continue doing so.

Tomoe was herself, and no one would ever stop that.

Her current self, Tomoe Marguerite was dead, she decided. She would die as Tomoe Hinagiku instead; and by this, she would be free.
